Arsenal goalkeeper Leno is probably very popular at Fulham FC

The Athletic report

Signed in 2018 for 25 million euros as the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of FC Arsenal at the time, Bernd Leno (30) mostly found himself on the bench last season. The ex-Leverkusener made eight appearances for the Gunners in 2021/22, four of them in the Premier League. Aaron Ramsdale (24) not only replaced him as number one, but also as keeper with the highest transfer fee in the club’s history with his move last year. Leno, who is approaching his last year of contract, could therefore once again aim for a new adventure.

As “The Athletic“ reported, the nine-time German national goalkeeper is in conversation with newly promoted FC Fulham. Accordingly, Leno is currently the club’s favorite for a commitment, but nothing has been agreed between the parties. Despite his current position at Arsenal, it is believed he would like to stay with the north Londoners.

He recently had this in an interview with the portals “Spox” and “Goal” when asked about a possible departure. “You can’t rule anything out anyway. I’m 30 years old, so you might think that despite your ambition and impatience, you might be a little more relaxed about a topic like this. Of course there are always requests. But like I said, it’s all about playing here. That’s my first claim. If the club plans otherwise, they have to come to me. Of course, my agency and I keep an eye on the situation.”

Arsenal’s Leno most valuable German goalkeeper with contract expiring in 2023

Leno, who with a market value of 10 million euros is the most valuable German goalkeeper with his contract ending in 2023, has a total of 125 games in Arsenal FC. Should Leno decide to move to west London, he would be the most valuable goalkeeper in coach Marco Silva’s team and would bring a wealth of Premier League experience to the table. In the past championship season, goalkeeping duties were shared between the “Cottagers” Marek Rodak (25) and Paulo Gazzaniga (30). Leno could become Fulham’s first signing.
