Dead gulls in Nieuwpoort appear to be infected with bird flu virus

The FASFC has examined samples of dead gulls from Nieuwpoort, Ostend, Lombardsijde and Mariakerke. Additional safety measures for the poultry sector are not necessary. The FASFC recommends that you comply with the applicable rules.

Since the weekend, hikers have found many sick and dead gulls, especially in Nieuwpoort. But that was also the case in Northern France and the Netherlands.
