Turbine Potsdam President Kutzmutz resigns

Only five days after the separation from coach Sofian Chahed, the president of the women’s Bundesliga club 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam has resigned.

Rolf Kutzmutz made his position available on Wednesday, the club announced in the evening. Kutzmutz worked for Turbine in various positions for 22 years, seven years he was at the helm of the six-time German champion.

The amicable separation from Chahed prompted him to “rethink the past year thoroughly”, Kutzmutz was now quoted as saying: “I no longer see myself in a position to do something positive for the club in a responsible position, an unconditional and good cooperation to organize with the other responsible persons and to implement common goals.”

His approach to keeping the club “successful in competition with the licensed clubs” had “failed from a personal point of view”. The club is very important to him, so he “doesn’t want to stand in the way of successful development,” said Kutzmutz.

Chahed left the club after two years, although he had only extended his contract prematurely until 2025 last winter.

The ex-pro from Hertha BSC and Hannover 96 took fourth place twice in the Bundesliga with Turbine and most recently reached the DFB Cup final.
