The clothing retailer C&A Europe will have to do without Eric Brenninkmeijer in the future. The current Chief Selling & Markets Officer has decided to “take up a new position at Cofra Holding” and will therefore “leave the management team of C&A Europe in September 2022,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday. His successor has already been arranged internally: After a “transitional phase from June to August 2022”, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jason Morgan Brenninkmeijers, who has only been in office since mid-April, will take over his previous duties.
For Brenninkmeijer, this marks the end of an impressive career at C&A: he has been with the company since 1990. Giny Boer, CEO of C&A Europe, paid tribute to the outgoing manager: “It is with great thanks that we say goodbye to Eric and wish him all the best for the next chapter in his career,” she said in a statement. “For three decades, Eric has shaped the company with his authentic personality, his passion for the business and people at C&A and his committed leadership style.”
In the future, he will now take on responsibilities at Cofra Holding AG, based in Zug, Switzerland. The company, founded in 2001, bundles and coordinates the business activities of the Brenninkmeijer family. It is therefore also the parent company of the retailer C&A, which was founded by Clemens and August Brenninkmeijer in 1841 and is still family-owned.
