The 66-year-old missing while swimming on the Zenssee near Lychen (Uckermark) has been found dead.
As the police in Frankfurt/Oder announced on Tuesday, divers from the lifeguard rescued the lifeless man on Monday afternoon.
The man wanted to swim from the beach of a holiday camp to an opposite shore on Sunday evening. Relatives reported that on the way back, the swimmer suddenly dived halfway and did not come back to the surface of the water.
The water rescue service and the fire brigade initially searched unsuccessfully for the missing person. The search continued on Monday. An underwater drone was also used.

It is the third death in Brandenburg waters within a few days.
