Restaurant ‘t Hommelhof in Watou closes its doors

This afternoon top chef Stefaan Couttenye prepared his last meals in Gasthof ‘t Hommelhof. Lunch was booked weeks in advance. Couttenye is 61 years old and has not found a buyer for his life’s work.

The West Fleming incorporated the beer culture of the region, Watou has two breweries, in his kitchen. Also celebrities, including Queen Paola and Hugo Claus, came to try the dishes.
