Germany’s World Cup group opponents Japan have lost a friendly against Brazil. In the capital Tokyo, the Asians lost 1-0 (0-0) to the five-time soccer world champion.
Brazil’s superstar Neymar scored in front of 63,638 spectators with a safely converted penalty in the 77th minute. The Japanese played well, especially in the first half, but were unable to repeat their success from June 2nd. In the previous friendly, the team had beaten Paraguay 4-1 in Sapporo.
At the World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year, Japan and Germany will meet in preliminary round group E on November 23rd. Brazil plays in Group C against Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
