Motorcyclist dies after blow to flower box

The accident happened around 5 a.m. on Koningstraat in Hooglede. A motorcyclist hit a flower box, causing the man to be catapulted away. All help came too late for the victim, he died as a result of the accident.

The Kortrijk public prosecutor’s office sent a traffic expert on site to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash. The expert came to the conclusion that the motorcyclist must have made a steering error. As a result, he would have lost control of his vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the accident
