3rd league: SV Meppen presents Stefan Krämer as the new coach

Last worked in Belgium

SV Meppen has found a successor for the dismissed Rico Schmitt. Stefan Krämer takes over as coach at the third division club. The 55-year-old, who was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Arminia Bielefeld in 2013, last worked for the Belgian first division club KAS Eupen from July 2021 to February 2022, with whom he scored an average of 1.24 points in 29 games.

“After intensive talks, we came to the conclusion that Stefan Krämer is the right head coach for us. With his experience, competence and passion, he fits perfectly into our requirement profile. I am convinced that he can inspire the team and the fans. We’re really looking forward to working together,” said sporting director Heiner Beckmann.

Krämer added: “SV Meppen is an absolutely traditional club. The people here in the region have a high identification with the Emsland and the SVM. I want to build a team that offers honest, no-nonsense and passionate football to our fans. We have to work hard from day one to achieve our common goals in a strong 3rd division. I am really looking forward to this exciting challenge!”
