The Football Association fined Everton manager Frank Lampard £ 30,000 for comments made in the aftermath of Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
Lampard was infuriated by referee Stuart Attwell’s decision not to award Anthony Gordon a penalty. “It was a penalty, but they don’t give it to you at Anfield,” thundered Lampard in his post-match interview. “If the foul had been made on Mohamed Salah under the Kop, I think the referee would have given it. It was foul on Anthony. “
Lampard was quickly accused by the FA of discrediting the championship and has now been fined by an independent regulatory commission for his remarks. The note: “An independent regulatory commission fined Frank Lampard £ 30,000 for violating FA’s E3 rule in relation to media comments demonstrated in a personal interview.”
