Pop singer Jürgen Drews wants to step back for health reasons for the time being.

“I’m not as resilient as I used to be and as I’m used to,” wrote the 77-year-old on Instagram on Monday. Drews, who lives in Münsterland in the Coesfeld district, says he suffers from polyneuropathy, a nervous disease.

On the joint tour with Florian Silbereisen, the “King of Mallorca” found that the side effects of aging caught up with him more and more quickly and that the “creeping process” of the disease could not be stopped completely, Drews continued.

Until the beginning of July, the musician – known for evergreens like “Ein Bett im Kornfeld” and “Wieder alles im Griff” – does not want to do any live performances for the time being, where he has to be on stage longer.

“For me, too, these physical limitations that I have had to experience are completely new and I have to learn to deal with them,” wrote Drews.
