★★★★ A girl adopts a baby coming who knows where. And where he goes, terrible and strange things happen. It’s all pure black humor with the British gesture of understatement (something huge happens and it’s barely mentioned), although deep down it’s all a big joke about the anxieties surrounding motherhood. It’s very good, acted effectively and the sitcomterror combination is most original. Not suitable for traditionalists of either gender.
