Verstappen fourth in first training in Monaco | 1Limburg

Max Verstappen set the fourth fastest time in the first free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1. The Limburger came to 1,14,712 in his Red Bull.

He was 0.181 seconds slower than Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari. Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez was second at 0.039 seconds, ahead of the other Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz.

Monaco
The first practice on the street circuit in Monaco took place on Friday and not on Thursday, as was previously customary in the principality. The training was dominated by the Ferrari and Red Bull cars. Mercedes had more trouble getting to a good time. George Russell was eighth at 0.680 seconds behind Leclerc.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton only finished tenth and was almost a second slower than Leclerc.

Verstappen
Verstappen leads the World Cup standings with 110 points, 6 points more than Leclerc. The reigning world champion has won the last three Grands Prix.
