The Première Vision Paris fair has published a white paper intended to convey the key moments for more sustainable creative fashion.

For the organizers of the Première Vision Paris fair, fashion must reinvent itself to reduce its ecological footprint through manufacturing processes and sourcing, and to integrate circularity and sustainability. According to the fair, this change should affect all players in the sector: the consumers and especially the younger generations who are looking for transparency, the brands with a sustainability strategy and finally the industry itself, which must invest to create in a sensible way and to produce.

The white paper offers solutions, especially with regard to sourcing, which, according to the authors, decides everything from the use of the raw material. Première Vision Paris intends to share these solutions at the next edition, which will include a physical part from July 5th to 7th in Paris and a digital part from July 4th to 8th. Complementing all the fair’s initiatives, grouped under the Smart Création banner (a platform for studies and information) since 2015, a two-volume white paper for professionals has been published, addressing the new needs of the sector while guiding them on their path to eco-friendly accompanied by responsibility.

Concretely, the solutions proposed by Première Vision should first be organized around the identification and promotion of an eco-responsible offer. This offer will revolve around the Smart Creation area, which brings together the most committed companies in the sector in terms of eco-designed, organic or recycled materials, respectful finishings and finishes (dyes, treatments, prints), innovative and responsible design and production processes, products and… technological solutions at the service of ecodesign or traceability, as well as global circular approaches.

This offer will also be expressed in a new Eco-Innovation Forum, which will present a carefully crafted selection of the fair’s creative and responsible offer. Another part of the proposal is the introduction of performance codes created by Première Vision Paris. These codes offer a simple and didactic illumination of the eco-designed materials, be they biological materials, bio-based polymers, recycled materials or the finish with reduced use of chemicals. Finally, the fair’s commitment to ecological responsibility should be expressed through educational content and lectures.

CSR is at the heart of the values of Première Vision Paris

In addition, the Première Vision Paris fair declares in a press release that it has placed CSR at the heart of its values: “Première Vision’s approach to environmental responsibility and innovation goes beyond its commitment through the Smart Creation platform and the emphasis on the sustainable offer of its exhibitors”. The company thus undertakes to carry out the sorting of wood, plastic, paper and cardboard related to its events, which corresponds to the processing of around 60 tons of waste. To this end, the fair has entered into a partnership with the company Co-Recyclage for the recycling of furniture and materials used at its events. In addition, Première Vision, in cooperation with VIParis, the management of the exhibition venues, organizes the daily collection of unsold products from the catering areas of the fair. These are then redistributed to food banks such as the Red Cross.

The two-part whitepaper can be downloaded from the exhibition’s website.
