Too many scandal photos? Madonna is no longer allowed to go live on Instagram

Although Madonna regularly turns heads on social media, on Friday (May 20) the Queen of Pop expressed surprise, even indignation, at her ban from Instagram Live. Referring to its community guidelines, the singer’s platform has apparently turned the tide on the singer, she is currently not allowed to post live videos on Instagram. This circumstance left Madonna “speechless”.

“What’s happening?!”

A video that the musician posted last Friday morning shows her and her team trying to go live on Instagram. The initial euphoria about the forthcoming project is followed by disillusionment: “Blocked from sharing live videos” says the screen. “What the fuck” is the first reaction that Madonna’s team has for this circumstance. Seriously shocked by her lockdown, the singer is wondering: “What’s happening here?!”

Madonna has crossed the line too many times

She gets the answer immediately: A member of her team reads out to everyone that she is said to have violated Instagram’s behavior guidelines too often in the past. The pop legend then jokes that she has “more clothes than ever before” in her life. However, the social network does not seem to be interested in that.

The team uses the platform’s help center to find out about potentially offensive posts: “We want Instagram to continue to be an authentic and safe place for inspiration and expression,” reads Madonna’s staff. The guidelines are not explained further, but on Instagram it says: “Post only your own photos and videos and always comply with the applicable laws. Respect everyone on Instagram, don’t spam, and don’t post content that depicts nudity.”

Madonna is ‘speechless’

The 63-year-old leaves all of this “speechless”, she says in her video. In recent years, the singer has repeatedly made public that she is a supporter of the “Free the Nipple” movement. In this context, she also posted photos showing her nipples on Instagram. Since this violates the guidelines of the platform, these images were always removed. In a video she recently uploaded, she appeared drunk and admitted to using cocaine (whether jokingly or seriously is unclear). More photos, which may not necessarily violate the guidelines, have also recently caused a stir as the musician used Photoshop to look like she was 20 again.

There have been no official statements so far

An official statement from Madonna’s spokespersons is not yet available, and the Instagram parent company Meta is said to have not yet commented on the case. It is therefore still unclear which rules she is said to have broken this time. According to Billboard, there could be a link to promoting Madonna’s latest remix of 1998’s RAY OF LIGHT single “Frozen.”
