Qhen Carlo and Camilla received the invitation to visit the set of EastEndershistoric British soap opera (aired since 1985), they haven’t been told twice. The scenes were filmed on March 31st, on the set of Elstree, north London, where the streets of Walford, an entire fictional district of London’s East End, were created. In the plot of recent weeks, one of the protagonists, Mick Carter (played by actor Danny Dyer), has organized one of the traditional street party of the Jubilee, street parties in honor of the queen. And Carlo and Camilla will surprise the “residents” right in the middle of the party.

Buckingham Palace has not confirmed whether, during the episode, the heir to the throne of England and the Duchess of Cornwall will recite any lines. But from the stories of several members of the cast it emerged that Carlo and Camilla spent more time than they should, clearly at ease and quite amused by the occasion.

“They had never done anything like it,” commented actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda, Mick’s wife. “But they adapted perfectly.”

Carlo and Camilla are not the only ones to have made history on the soap

In 2001, the same Elizabeth had visited the set of EastEnders and, accompanied by actress Barbara Windsor – who at the time gave the face to one of the most famous characters, Peggy Mitchell, and was later named Lady by the same sovereign – she had gladly taken a walk in the iconic places of the soap, from Albert Square Square at the Queen Vic pub, named in honor of the Victoria ancestor.
