My Chemical Romance release first song since 2014

After disbanding in 2013, the American alternative rock band announced a reunion show in Los Angeles in 2019, which sold out in minutes. The band then planned a world tour with a few stops in Europe, but most of it fell victim to the corona pandemic. For a long time it was unclear whether My Chemical Romance would also work on new music after their comeback. Now they have surprisingly released a new song entitled “The Foundations of Decay”, which musically seamlessly follows the previous output of the band around frontman Gerard Way.

It is still unclear whether “The Foundations of Decay” will be a standalone single or whether we can expect an EP or an album to be announced soon. But one thing is (pretty much) certain: the band is coming to Germany for four concerts this year. And there are even tickets for the shows. The concerts are part of a major comeback tour that will take My Chemical Romance to Paris, Glasgow, Toronto and Sydney, among other places. Here is an overview of the German gigs:

  • June 6th, 2022 – Munich, Olympic Hall
  • 06/12/2022 – Berlin, Velodrome
  • 06/17/2022 – Bonn, artificial! turf
  • 06/18/2022 – Bonn, artificial! turf

The Belleville, New Jersey band’s “current” album was released in 2010 and is called DANGER DAYS: THE TRUE LIVES OF THE FABULOUS KILLJOYS. After that they released two more EPs and a few singles, most recently “fake you death“.
