Lyon pushes Barca from the premier class throne

The footballers from Olympique Lyon surprisingly knocked FC Barcelona off the Champions League throne with full force. The record winner around star striker Ada Hegerberg defeated the defending champion in Turin 3:1 (3:1) and won the cup for the eighth time.

In the absence of the injured international Dzsenifer Marozsan (torn cruciate ligament), Amandine Henry (6th) scored a dream goal, Hegerberg (23rd) and Catarina Macario (33rd) scored the goals for Lyon. Only world footballer Alexia Putellas (41st) was successful for Barca.

The top favorite, who has been so dominant for two years, played a shockingly weak first half against the rip-off orienteering team in front of more than 41,000 fans in the Juventus Stadium.

The Catalans missed their second triumph in the Champions League, and it was also a bitter deja vu: in the 2019 final, Barca clearly lost 4-1 to the French record champions in Budapest.

As the last Bundesliga team, champions VfL Wolfsburg were eliminated in the semi-finals against Barcelona. In the new season, Wolfsburg and FC Bayern as well as Eintracht Frankfurt will be competing internationally again.
