Day 3 (PGA Championship 2022)

19:25

difficult conditions

Many established pros continue to struggle on the wet green. This includes world number one podium finishers Jon Rahm and Collin Morikawa. The Spaniard had three bogeys on the up and will no longer be in contention for the title with five over par. Morikawa is even bleaker after a double bogey on 16, he’s over par on nine.

19:23

The start times of the leaders

The two fifth-placed riders, Rory McIlroy and Abraham Ancer, start their flight at 8:30 p.m. German time. Ten minutes later Bubba Watson and Justin Thomas take their turn, Mato Pereira and Will Zalatoris start their journey at 20:50. The late start time could be a disadvantage should the wind pick up.

19:16

Reed starts his day with a birdie

The Texan is two under par and moves into the top ten. If he uses the Moving Day, he can certainly attack again tomorrow.

19:13

The Morning of Woods

With a cloudy sky and strong gusts of wind from the north, the physically battered old master is having a hard time. At hole six he caught the water hazard and needed three strokes more than planned. He made bogeys on each of the last five holes, and the 46-year-old is currently on the 14th hole.

19:11

Woods and Straka slip

It’s a success for the two of them to have survived the cut yesterday. However, they were passed this morning and can be found at the bottom end of the rankings: Woods is 78th with 13 over par, Straka is 79th with 15 over par.

18:59

what happened yesterday

Some well-known players were eliminated yesterday. The biggest surprise was certainly the early exit of world number one Scottie Scheffler, who was two strokes above the cut line with 6 over par. Dustin Johnson and Sergio García are also gone. The best rounds came from Bubba Watson (63 shots), Mito Pereira (64) and Will Zalatoris (65). Zalatoris goes into the day as the leader with nine shots under par, closely followed by Pereira.
