Britney Spears announced to her followers on Instagram that she had a miscarriage. The singer announced her pregnancy just a month earlier.
Fiancé encourages Britney Spears
“It is with great sadness that we announce that we lost our miracle baby early in pregnancy,” Britney Spears wrote on Instagram. She continued, “This is a devastating time for any parent.”
“Perhaps we should have waited until we were further along to announce it, but we were too excited and shared the good news. Our love for one another is our strength. We will continue to try to add to our wonderful family,” Spears said.
Her fiancé Sam Asghari has already reacted to the post and encouraged Spears: “We will see a miracle soon ❤️”
Guardianship prevented the desire to have children
Britney Spears already has two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, the 16 year old son Sean and the 15 year old Son jayden. During the legal battle over her guardianship last year, it was revealed that she would like to have more children with Asghari. However, due to her guardianship, she was unable to do so.
In 2008, her father Jamie Spears established legal guardianship after Britney Spears was incapacitated due to mental health issues. During the court case last summer, the singer testified that the rule was abusive, adding that she was not allowed to remove an IUD for contraception.
“I want to get married and have a baby,” Spears said at the time. “I have been told that under guardianship I will not be able to get married or have a child.”
In late 2021, a Los Angeles judge ended guardianship on the grounds that it was no longer necessary. During this period, Spears also announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Asghari.
