From the regional league
1. FC Saarbrücken has strengthened its position as goalkeeper with VfR Aalen’s regular keeper Tim Paterok (29), who has been signed for two years and specifically brought in as a second force behind goalkeeper icon Daniel Batz (31).
Saarbrücken’s sporting director Jürgen Luginger said: “We have analyzed our goalkeeper situation in detail and, together with our goalkeeping coach Michael Weirich, have come to the conclusion that we should sign a stable and experienced keeper as a backup for our number 1 Daniel Batz. Tim Paterok is one of the best goalkeepers in the regional league, enjoyed an excellent education in Paderborn and Hoffenheim and has already had a taste of third division air in Osnabrück. He exudes an appropriate calmness and also suits our squad in terms of personality.”
