Berlin (AP) – The Argentine soccer striker Paulo Dybala leaves Juventus Turin. The 28-year-old announced his departure from the Italian record champions on Instagram and is therefore on the market for free in the summer.
According to a report in the Italian newspaper “Corriere dello Sport”, Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund is said to be interested in signing the attacker. The favorite should be league rivals Inter Milan.
“It’s difficult to find words. But tomorrow will be my last game in this jersey. It’s hard to imagine, but it will be our last goodbye,” wrote Dybala. “I thought we would have many more years together, but fate takes us down different paths. It’s been an incredible seven years, with 12 titles and 115 goals, that no one will ever take away from us.”
Dybala has played a total of 291 competitive games for Juve and has become a fan favourite. This Monday, Juve meets Lazio Rome at the end of the penultimate matchday of Serie A, it is the last home game for Dybala and the club. On Wednesday, Juve will play Inter Milan in Rome in the final of the Italian Cup.
According to “Corriere dello Sport”, the Argentine’s advisors should be in contact with clubs in Europe. The only concrete offer so far has been received from BVB, wrote the “Corriere” on Thursday. After the expected departure of striker Erling Haaland, who was courted by many top clubs, Dybala should play a central role in the Bundesliga club’s attack, it was said. Dortmund has not yet commented on the report. According to the consultant, there should be no agreement with Inter or any other club.
