Defeating Frutti Extra Bursaspor Men’s Basketball Team 80-67 in the ULEB European Cup final, Italy representative Virtus Segafredo Bologna won the cup.
Virtus Segafredo Bologna, who used Teodosic, Weems and Belinelli well in the set attacks, closed the first quarter 25-12 ahead in the first period, which started with the mutual baskets of the two teams, and the 3rd minute was 7-7.
Starting the second quarter fast, the Italian team managed to maintain the lead in the 5th minute with the points of Sampson and Weems: 34-21. Continuing the rhythm they found in the third quarter, the green-whites managed to reduce the gap to 5 points (64-59) with the points they found from the set attacks of Dudzinski, Onuralp Bitim and Needham, and gave the opposing team head coach Sergio Scariolo a break in the 32nd minute. Returning from the time-out with more control, the Italians scored with Jaiteh, Shengelia and Hervey, increasing the lead again to double digits in the 34th minute: 70-60. Virtus Segafredo Bologna, who did not give a chance to return to Frutti Extra Bursaspor with the support of the audience and experienced players in the remaining minutes, won the park 80-67.
