After Haaland deal before departure
Rumors of Gabriel Jesus leaving Manchester City have persisted since it became known that the Skyblues were ahead in the race for Erling Haaland. The official confirmation of the transfer has now given the Brazilian certainty that he would be, at best, number two forward next season. According to his agent, there are a number of other doors open to the right foot.
“We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus,” Marcelo Pettinati told Energy Sports “Guardians”. Although “six other clubs are also interested”, the “Gunners” are quite impressed. “We like the project. It’s definitely a possibility we’re discussing,” Pettinati said.

The contract of captain Alexandre Lacazette (30) expires with the Londoners, the Frenchman recently confirmed negotiations with other clubs. In addition, coach Mikel Arteta has only one other trained centre-forward available in Eddie Nketiah. The 20-year-old has been in better form after a difficult season with few appearances, scoring four goals in his last four games.
This is how much the Premier League clubs paid to player agents in 21/22
However, it seems unlikely that Arsenal will rely solely on Nketiah’s development for the coming season. In Jesus, the fourth-placed Premier League player would get a center forward who has already proven his qualities in the English top flight. In six years at Man City, he scored 95 times in 234 games and provided 46 assists.
From Jesus’ perspective, whose contract at Manchester runs until 2023, a transfer to the Gunners would increase his chances of a regular spot, which he rarely held under Pep Guardiola. “He’s still focused on the last games at Man City. Then we’ll see,” said Pettinati. A decision can only be expected after the end of the season – then the Jesus side would also have certainty about Arsenal’s possible participation in the Champions League. With three games to go, the Londoners are four points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
