Perhaps the best thing about the amazing spectacle musical Diary of a Herdershond, which premiered on Sunday in the MECC in Maastricht, is this: the makers also manage to reach audiences that are too young to have seen the television series of the same name between 1978 and 1980 and, moreover, does not feel excessive interest in the rich Roman history of Limburg, to be fully captivated for more than two hours.
