Schalke 04 is back in the Bundesliga. Coach Mike Büskens commented on his future in a “double pass” on Sunday. And cleared up after discussions with a clarification.
In the “one-two” at Sport 1, Büskens made it clear about his future at Schalke: “I said from the start that I would like to continue working as an assistant coach and take care of young players.”
Anticipation for the derby against BVB: “That’s what the Revier lives on”
He also adds to the party night: “I didn’t sleep at all, it wouldn’t have been worth it.” Regarding his club, he said with a view to the past year and the development after relegation: “We stand up for each other again, were very humble and are ready to work for each other again. These are things that are elementary at Schalke.”
Future BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl also congratulated Schalke on their promotion, saying: “I’m looking forward to real derbies again next season.”
Büskens agreed: “We’re looking forward to the games again, that’s what the Revier lives on. Let’s be happy that we’re back on top. We’re no longer the Schalke that should be dreaming of the Champions League, we justifiably bled and will take small steps upwards.”
