Overflowing emotions not only at Terodde
The relief and importance for all players after the final whistle was probably best seen in Simon Terodde. The striker dropped to the ground immediately after the final whistle and cried uncontrollably for minutes.
Even later, when around 20,000 fans had long stormed the pitch and wanted to celebrate this game, this rise, together with the players, the top scorer (29 goals this season) apparently looked to his strike partner Marius Bülter for support. Both of them lay crying in each other’s arms for almost an eternity.

The 46-year-old had put together this promotion team in a Sisyphean task and a lot of ingenuity. Schröder had to handle more than 50 transfers as arrivals or departures before the start of the season.
