Bologna: Skorupski, clean sheet record this season, many bonuses to fantasy football

For once, on the cover, there are no goals or assists. But parades, clean goals and low exits. Lukasz Skorupski (20 million), the Bologna goalkeeper who in less than a month stopped four ‘big players’ of the caliber of Milan, Juventus, Inter and Rome, was certainly one of the most unexpected protagonists of the last few days.

Against the Giallorossi, the Polish goalkeeper – among other things, a former match – exalted himself by conquering the twelfth clean sheet, a personal best in his career: in the past, in fact, he had reached a maximum of ‘ten’ (with Empoli in 2016 / 2017 and Bologna in 2018/2019). After two complicated championships, with many goals conceded and few clean sheets, the Pole raised the level of performances also supported by an excellent Medel who had a great season as a central defender. Surely among the ‘low-cost’ goalkeepers he was one of those few to perform from the ‘top’ with an average rating (6.32) lower than only Provedel and Maignan. On the Magic Media (4.92), however, the many goals conceded (46) still weigh, but the native defender of Zabrze remains in the top-10, demonstrating a positive year.

Bologna, now largely saved, can already plan next season. The competitions with Venice, Sassuolo and Genoa are a mere formality although both the lagoons and the Ligurians are playing an important slice of salvation. As often happens in the last few days, it is not excluded that in these matches Skorupski may give way to Bardi, a reserve who recently made his debut in the league in Bologna-Udinese (2-2) due to the unavailability of the last instant of the former goalkeeper of Empoli and Rome among others. Skorupski comes from a dream 2022 where he has conceded 15 goals in 15 games by closing his door on five occasions and redeemed himself after two unhappy years. At 31 years old, which he turns today, he can allow himself a second ‘youth’ with other beautiful performances to be framed in the future.
