In the pursuit on foot, 26-year-old officer Edsaul Mendoza shot the boy, Thomas “TJ” Siderio Jr., three times in the back. According to the public prosecutor, camera images showed that the boy had already dropped his weapon with the third and fatal shot. So he was no longer a danger.
The agent was fired in March and he was arrested on Sunday. He is charged with first degree murder.
