Next top performer remains
After top scorer John Verhoek (33), Hansa Rostock has tied the next top performer to itself. As the second division team announced on Sunday evening, the contract of veteran Hanno Behrens (32) has been extended by a year to 2023 after the secured relegation. The midfielder joined Hansa from 1. FC Nürnberg on a free transfer in 2021 and has played 29 games for the North Germans since then, scoring five goals and six assists.
“We look forward to planning with Hanno in the future as well. He is an important part of the team and has been used almost continuously this season with the exception of a few games. In addition, his whole mentality suits us very well: a player with heart, mind and a very professional attitude,” explained sporting director Martin Pieckenhagen.
