Munich (AP) – Sebastian Vettel has called for more commitment to sustainability. “That concerns us all,” said the four-time Formula 1 world champion at an event in Munich.
“It’s up to all of us to make the future better and create it better.” The Aston Martin driver wants to try to take a “few people” with his initiatives. One should “not get entangled in changes”.
Among other things, Vettel is involved in the “BioBienenApfel” project, which aims to create a habitat for bees. “We all have to get involved and activate,” demanded the 34-year-old. “Life is so worth living and we should do everything to keep it that way.”
According to Vettel, changes towards more sustainability are “generally not going fast enough.” You have to “set every lever in motion to make the world a better place.”
Vettel knows the dichotomy of being a racing driver and at the same time working to protect the environment. “It doesn’t fit together at the moment,” admitted the Hessian. But for the future it is one of the “many challenges to bring that together.”
