IS EVERYTHING WENT GOOD
Gender: Dramatic comedy ✦✦✦
Directed by François Ozon. With Sophie Marceau, André Dussolier, Géraldine Pailhas
Happy hand that of the director of Drops of water on hot stones who manages to make a painful premise (a father’s request to his daughters to help him die), a daring and revealing tale.
Inspired by the autobiographical novel by Emmanuèle Bernheim, the film presented at the last Cannes Film Festival, confronts a despotic man – certainly a father who is not easy to deal with but who loves life and therefore chooses to face death, and a daughter who decides her despite performing an act of love.
Magnificent actors, Marceau above all, a very dense film that defies taboo by dribbling sociology and sentimentality.
