The Spanish government has announced an investigation after it became known that more than 60 leading Catalan separatists and their environment were being systematically monitored through the spy software Pegasus. Presidential Minister Félix Bolaños announced this on Sunday after a meeting with his Catalan colleague Laura Vilagrà. However, he dismissed the announcement as “inadequate” and threatened with “severe consequences” if no one in Madrid were to resign.
