A fire broke out at Vistaprint in Blerick on Saturday morning. Employees managed to extinguish the fire themselves, which prevented it from getting worse. The property has been evacuated as a precaution.
The fire brigade received a report around 7:00 a.m. of an oven fire on Hudsonweg.
Crates with clothes
The fire turned out not to be in an oven, but in a scaffolding on the first floor. There were 25 small crates of clothing stored that had caught fire.
Two sprinklers went off because of the fire. First responders took action themselves and extinguished the fire. About 40 employees were evacuated, but no one was injured in the fire. It is still unknown how the fire started. However, the company sustained water and smoke damage.
Control and ventilation
The fire brigade is carrying out a follow-up check and ventilating the building. After that, the staff can go back inside.
