On April 28, book author and ex-Wu-Tang manager Eva Ries will be a guest at Heimathafen Neukölln in Berlin with her recently published book “Wu-Tang is forever”. In her book, she describes on around 240 pages what was probably the most decisive experience of her life: In her late 20s, she received an offer to market the rising rap crew Wu-Tang Clan internationally for the New York record label Loud/RCA Records. She accepts and embarks on an exciting journey that is not free of conflicts and misunderstandings. In 1993 two worlds collided with the young German manager Eva Ries and the nine American rappers who revolutionized hip-hop with their depressing lyrics about life in the ghetto and their appearance as a permanent group.
“Wu-Tang is forever”: book presentation in the home port
In the home port, Eva Ries will read the first chapter of “Wu-Tang is forever”. Photos and videos from the two decades she spent with the legendary rap crew are also shown. The two panellists, Ries and music journalist Jan Wehn, will delve into a formative period of music history together and discuss the book before the audience is left to ask questions. Anyone who wants to be there can here Purchase tickets in advance for 13 euros. The event lasts around 100 minutes including a break.
