Who has been married to Karel for 52 years? Wedding ring found in Tilburg

Chef Robin Ruzette would like to return the wedding ring to Karel’s wife. Three days ago, a wedding ring was found on the terrace in his restaurant, the Ketelhuis in Tilburg. ‘Karel’ is engraved in it, and a year: 1969.

Karel’s wife probably sat on the terrace outside three days ago when she lost the ring. That is where the jewelery was found, by a colleague of Robin. “I am married myself. I would be really worried if I lost my wedding ring,” he says.

His colleague had put the ring in the tip jar to keep it in case someone came looking for it. “But I thought it was too important to leave it there,” Robin says. So he started his own search.

The chef checked the reservation book, but found no information about who would belong to Karel. “Of course there are only surnames in it, that is not of much use.” Two days ago he therefore placed an advertisement on foundvoorwerpen.nl, but that did not yield any results either. “It says in the ring that they were married in 1969, so the woman must be of age already. You may not be on social media much then.” Sending Facebook messages didn’t seem like a smart idea to him for that reason.

Still, Robin hopes to one day be able to return the ring to its rightful owner. “Maybe she’ll read it this way.” Robin hopes the older woman will have her wedding ring back on her finger soon.
