Top scorers Terodde and Tietz directly in the game
The top game kept what it promised right from the start: SVD pushed Schalke far behind at the start. Tietz headed a cross from the left against the post, from where the ball bounced back in front of his feet and the striker was able to dust off. Schalke replied immediately: With the first successful attack, the leaders found their top scorer Terodde, who headed in to equalize.
After half an hour, Terodde headed in again when he converted a cross to give S04 the lead. But Darmstadt also had a good attacker on the pitch: three minutes after the “Knappen” lead player, an SVD cross flew into the penalty area from the right and Tietz equalized the game again. Bülter put the guests back in front with a deflected shot before the break.

After the break, things started spectacularly again: Bülter ran through a long ball, rounded SVD goalkeeper Morten Behrens and pushed in. A decision was not made – both teams consistently played forward. Rodrigo Zalazar only hit the crossbar for the guests (57th). Bülter finally became the man of the day: he pulled into the middle from the right and shot in from 13 meters down the left for the preliminary decision.
