This year, the KVB warns of altered arrival and departure routes alongside extended travel times. Significant construction has been under progress since June at multiple stations and tracks, arranged in three phases. Traveling from the Left Bank to Koelnmesse
The invaluable city train lines 1 (Weiden West to Bensberg) and 9 (Sülz to Königsforst) will terminate at Heumarkt due to construction. Starting from the previous stop, Neumarkt, replacement buses 101 and 109 will operate, ferrying guests to Gamescom in approximately 10 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

- Alternative options are also available through the replacement buses operating from Neumarkt and Heumarkt to the Deutz/Messe station.
- Travelers looking to return to the Altstadt can approach the Cologne Messe Deutz station, using S-Bahn, RB, or RE services.
- Although frequently busy, other options involve (rented) bikes, (rented) e-scooters, taxis, or Uber services.
