Train Chaos: Itzehoe Affected
Travelers heading to the Wacken Open Air are advised to exercise patience today. Due to a damaged overhead line between Elmshorn (Pinneberg district) and Pinneberg, delays are affecting this critical route to the shuttle station at Itzehoe (Steinburg district). According to Deutsche Bahn, the impacts are expected to last until the afternoon. Travelers should check their connections before departure using the DB Navigator. Fun Fact: The Skull is a Real Heavyweight
The iconic bull skull at the main stage is one of Wacken Open Air’s most recognized landmarks, boasting a height of around 10 meters and a width of 12.5 meters. In total, it weighs 2.5 tons of pure steel. Additionally, there are about 40 openings for pyrotechnics integrated into the structure.

Wischhafen Ferry: Avoid Waiting Times, Use Off-Peak Times
Those arriving at the Wacken Open Air via the Elbferry between Wischhafen and Glückstadt are advised to avoid peak times. According to FRS, traffic usually decreases significantly before 10 AM and again after 4 PM. During peak hours, waiting times can reach up to four hours.
