Red Bull Derives Positive News from Lipowitz
Florian Lipowitz has returned home following his exit from the Tour de France and subsequent surgery. “He is back home and following the race, keeping in touch with us,” said team boss Ralph Denk after the 19th stage in Alpe d’Huez. Lipowitz, who focuses his training in Seefeld, Austria, crashed during a time trial, breaking his right collarbone and suffering minor abrasions. He was operated on quickly and spent only a short time in the hospital.
As last year’s third-place finisher, his prospects for significant upcoming races are bleak. For the Vuelta in Spain (August 22 to September 13) and the World Championships in Montreal (September 20 to 27), recovery seems unlikely. He could perhaps make a comeback for autumn one-day races in Italy, such as the Lombardy Tour (October 10). However, Denk remains hopeful about a return this year.

Matthäus Praises Klopp’s Strengths – Takes a Jab at Nagelsmann
German football legend Lothar Matthäus sees the experience of the new national coach Jürgen Klopp as a major advantage over his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann. “Klopp is 20 years older than Julian Nagelsmann, giving him much more experience. His communication skills are key, and he should handle player interactions better than his predecessor,” Matthäus noted in his Sky column.

However, Matthäus warns that Klopp can only select players with German passports. This makes it “a challenging task,” he commented. He mentioned that he does not view the players as poorly as they have portrayed themselves. Despite Klopp’s limitations, Matthäus believes he will assess all available talents with his coaching staff.

Victory for Fury, but it Took Longer Than Expected
Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury scored another win at a boxing event in Pattaya, Thailand. The 37-year-old took seven rounds to overcome Polish veteran Mariusz Wach. According to “The Sun,” the bout lasted significantly longer than anticipated by most observers.
The fight ended in the seventh round when the referee, in consultation with a doctor, declared the “Gypsy King” the victor. There was no live broadcast for the event; select scenes are set to feature in a Netflix documentary about the Fury family. All proceeds from the event went to a charity supporting underprivileged children in Pattaya. Fury has already planned another event for November, dubbed the “Battle of Britain” against former world champion Anthony Joshua, who must first face Albanian Kristian Prenga on Saturday.
