The bus company says that more and more people are returning to Ukraine: about half of the people who have left Ukraine want to return, according to FlixBus. The company therefore wants to make a “safe, comfortable and affordable” journey possible. Trips can already be booked on the bus company’s website. For example, it is possible to travel from Maastricht to Kiev on Tuesday, with a change in Warsaw. The journey includes an indication that the bus is “half full”.

A spokesman for FlixBus says that besides Kiev, there will be driving to seven other Ukrainian cities, including Lviv. From Monday it is possible to travel from the Netherlands to those Ukrainian destinations, with a change in Warsaw or Prague.

Due to the war in Ukraine, the bus routes were previously discontinued. Ukrainian bus companies bringing travelers into the country claim it is currently safe enough to cross the Ukrainian border, according to a FlixBus spokesman. According to the website of the national government, the color code of the travel advice in Ukraine is red: “Whatever your situation is: do not go there.”
