The Flow App serves as the central control unit for Bosch’s E-Bikes equipped with their “smart system”. By connecting the motor, battery, and display with your smartphone, it offers a variety of practical features. With a recent update, several new functionalities have been added to enhance your E-Biking experience.
Flow App: New Update Available
The latest update for the Flow App has been available since June 30 on the Google Play Store and since July 6 on the Apple App Store. According to Bosch, this update promises to make your E-Bike motor even smarter. A key feature that sees significant improvement is the Extended Boost.
This boost allows you to effortlessly tackle obstacles like roots and steps on your trail, propelling you forward with a powerful and well-calibrated impulse of up to two meters. Importantly, the new update enables you to tailor the Extended Boost in the Flow App to suit your individual riding style.
AI Assistant for Your E-Bike
Additionally, the Drivetrain Tensioner has received an upgrade. With a more direct power connection during pedaling, your drive unit will react immediately, providing enhanced control. This feature is available for the Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y) and Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) in the Race, eMTB, and eMTB+ modes.
Software optimization has reduced the pedal’s dead space, thereby decreasing any lag when starting to pedal. The Drivetrain Tensioner is activated by default; however, Bosch promises that future updates will allow you to toggle this feature on or off as desired.
In addition, a new AI-based eBike Assistant is being integrated into the Flow App for your mobile device. This assistant is designed to answer your questions regarding Bosch components in a conversational format, utilizing resources from the Help Center, website, and relevant user manuals. Currently, this function is in its beta phase, meaning some responses may not yet be completely accurate.
