For weeks, Anna and Gerald Heiser from “Bauer sucht Frau” have been anxiously awaiting news regarding their three-year-old daughter, Alina, as doctors struggled to provide answers. Now, they finally have a diagnosis.
After weeks of uncertainty, a conclusion has been reached: the three-year-old daughter of Anna Heiser (36) and her husband Gerald Heiser (41) finally has a diagnosis. The former “Bauer sucht Frau” contestant shared the news in an emotional Instagram Reel. However, the specific condition affecting little Alina remains undisclosed.
“It’s interesting how many thoughts you have during situations like these,” she expressed in her Sunday post. “At least we have a diagnosis. Now targeted therapy can begin. Our daughter will still need further examinations, but it feels good to know a cause.”
Challenging Days Ahead
The uncertainty and stress of the situation have taken a toll on the couple, something Anna highlighted in her unfiltered video clip. Recently, doctors suspected an immune disorder, causing the pair to alternate care for their daughter in the hospital while also looking after their son at home. This frantic routine has left little time for their marriage. “We haven’t spoken to each other in six days,” Anna disclosed.
The handover of the children became a mechanical process: “One door, disinfecting room, another door. Quick exchange of children, a fleeting glance, a light kiss. Then each goes their separate ways.”
“You Don’t Know the Enemy”
How harrowing the preceding weeks had been became clear when Anna described her feelings in an Instagram post. In a carefree photo at the beach with Alina, she mentioned the helplessness of parents facing such challenges: “It’s hard to fight against something that has no name. You see your child is unwell. You observe the symptoms. Yet you don’t know the enemy.”
This invisible adversary has been a concern for the family for months. “The first time, you think it must just be a coincidence. The second time, you hope the first treatment wasn’t adequate. By the third time, you realize: There must be a cause. Thus, the examinations begin,” she explained their journey through medical facilities.
Guilt Over the Son
Compounding their stress is the pressure that hospitalization places on siblings. While holding her daughter, Anna felt immense guilt for her five-year-old son, Leon. “You constantly think about how you are neglecting your other child at home,” she reflected. The setting was overwhelming: blue lights outside the window, beeping monitors, the cries of other children in the corridor. “With every hour, it feels like the hospital room is getting smaller,” she admitted, leaving only one desire: “That your child gets better.”
A Difficult Start to Life
Anna and Gerald Heiser met in 2017 during the RTL show “Bauer sucht Frau” and married a year later. Their son, Leon, was born in 2021, and their daughter Alina—arriving five weeks early—was born in November 2022. Anna later described the birth as a rollercoaster of emotions.
