Jürgen Klopp makes headlines on social media with a statement that addresses recent circulating reports.

Jürgen Klopp has rebuffed circulating quotes attributed to him as untrue. These statements allegedly related to the England team’s semi-final exit against Argentina.

“Hello everyone, just a quick message from my couch. Today I’ve received a lot of messages about things that were found on social media, saying that I had said something about the England game, Thomas Tuchel, tactics, and such things,” Klopp said in a video message on Instagram: “That is not true.”

Klopp: “Don’t believe everything you read”

He clarified that he had not spoken to anyone in the last three to five days, adding that he is currently covering the World Cup in the USA as an expert for MagentaTV: “The first time I will speak publicly again is on Sunday at the final.”

And Klopp reiterated: “So, crazy world. Don’t believe everything you read. This time it is definitely wrong.”

The backdrop to his notable statement is sentences that were circulated, among others, by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

English Media References Alleged Klopp Quotes

The English Telegraph also picked up on these words and wrote that Klopp defended Tuchel and his transition during the 1:2 defeat against Argentina. The alleged quotes from Klopp appeared to be typical analysis of the match events, yet they turned out not to be authentic as Klopp has now clarified.

This clarification was the sole topic in the short video message of the 59-year-old, who is considered the designated national team coach. However, Klopp did not address this topic.
