This month’s security patch for the Samsung Galaxy Watch is somewhat different from those in previous months. Currently, no official details about the vulnerabilities addressed by this update have been disclosed. Typically, Samsung summarizes the security issues for user insight, but for now, it is safe to assume that the update addresses numerous security vulnerabilities.
Models Already Receiving the Update
Another bit of good news: Not only does the latest flagship model, the Samsung Galaxy Watch8, benefit from this update, but previous versions do as well. According to a post in the Samsung Community dated July 6, both the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and the Galaxy Watch8, along with the Galaxy Watch8 Classic and Galaxy Watch Ultra, are also receiving the update, as mentioned by well-known leaker Tarun Vats on X.
Users in South Korea were the first to receive the July security patch, which is a common practice for Samsung updates. Other regions are expected to follow soon. If you own one of the mentioned Galaxy Watch models, keep an eye on the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone for the new update. You can find it under “Watch Settings” and then “Software Update for Watch.” If the update is available, simply tap “Download and install.”
