With the recently released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, players are already diving into fixing bugs that may disrupt gameplay. The ACBlackFlagFix mod has removed the frame rate cap in cutscenes, and the newly launched version 2.1 aims to ensure frame generation functions seamlessly during these cinematic moments.

The mod specifically addresses an issue that doesn’t affect all systems or settings. The problem arises when certain graphics settings, namely ray tracing, BVH quality, or terrain quality, are manually set to “Ultra High.” In these instances, cutscenes may drop to 30 frames per second (fps), even while the main gameplay experiences a much higher frame rate.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: How the Mod Circumvents This Issue

For immediate relief, players are advised to adjust the aforementioned graphic options to “Very High.” Alternatively, using pre-set graphical profiles without manually pushing specific settings to the highest level could also help. Ubisoft is reportedly working on a patch to rectify this bug, though the release date has not yet been announced.

Players who wish to maintain the highest graphical settings can utilize the ACBlackFlagFix. Developed by NexusMods user rippoff, this mod is tailored specifically for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, built on the technical foundation of ACShadowsFix by Lyall, which offers similar enhancements for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

According to the developer, the functions could not simply be transferred from the earlier mod as Black Flag Resynced differs technically from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Hence, ACShadowsFix served only as a starting point for this new endeavor.

Frame Generation Remains Active During Cutscenes

Another notable aspect of gameplay concerns frame generation. While it may be enabled during in-game moments, it unfortunately turns off during cutscenes. If players experience 100 fps or more with frame generation activated, cutscenes may drop to 30 fps without it. This mod aims to smoothen out this disparity, keeping frame generation consistently active and maintaining a more uniform visual experience across both gameplay and cinematic sequences.

Such bugs, along with others, could explain why Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has garnered a “Mixed” status in Steam reviews, despite its generally positive launch. Players have expressed their concerns regarding these inconsistencies, contributing to the average ratings.
