On Independence Day

On the U.S. National Holiday, Beyoncé surprised her fans with a new song: “Morning Dew (Donk)” is part of the anniversary edition of her album “B’Day” and her first new music in two years.

On July 4, Beyoncé, 44, delighted her fans with an unexpected gift: the release of the song “Morning Dew (Donk),” marking her first new track in two years.

This release is more than just a spontaneous treat for the weekend. According to a press release from Parkwood Entertainment, the song kicks off a 60-day countdown to Beyoncé’s next birthday on September 4, alongside the reissue of her album “B’Day,” originally released in 2006. “Morning Dew (Donk)” features on the 20th Anniversary Edition of the record.

Collaboration with Influential Artists

The song was co-written by Beyoncé alongside Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon. Production credits go to Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams. The song is accompanied by a lyric video, showcasing old footage. Cliff Watts, a longtime collaborator of Beyoncé’s, directed the video. Watts had previously photographed the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit cover just before Beyoncé’s 25th birthday.

Fans Anticipate More

For Beyoncé fans, this release signifies a vital connection between two significant chapters of her career. Her last studio album, “Cowboy Carter,” was released on March 29, 2024. This album is the second part of a planned trilogy, which began with “Renaissance” in 2022. Fans eagerly await the third and final installment of this series. Speculations about a forthcoming release were reportedly denied by a source according to “Just Jared” in May.
