Most often, she wears her hair tied back. This week, Duchess Sophie surprises everyone with a new hairstyle. She now wears her hair shorter.

The British Duchess Sophie has opted for a new haircut. On Tuesday, she appeared with her hair down, cut significantly shorter at an agricultural fair. On Wednesday, she posed for a photo with her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, and her husband, Duke Edward.

The occasion was the university graduation of the 22-year-old, as reported on the Royal Family’s X account. “Congratulations to Lady Louise on graduating from St. Andrews University! Lady Louise celebrated her graduation together with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh,” it read. In the first image of the post, Louise is seen alone. The next shows Duchess Sophie – and her new hairstyle.

Sophie’s hair now reaches just below her chin. Moreover, it is noticeably lighter than before. According to British media, it is not the first time Sophie has opted for a bob. She reportedly had a similar hairstyle in 2011, which she debuted at her niece Zara’s and Mike Tindall’s wedding reception.

Duchess Sophie was born in 1965 and, through her marriage to Edward, the youngest brother of King Charles III, belongs to the British royal family. The couple married in 1999 and have two children: Lady Louise and 18-year-old James, Earl of Wessex. As a working member of the royal family, Sophie attends numerous public engagements and is involved in various causes, including women’s rights and the prevention of sexual violence in conflicts.
