Twan Huys has made headlines with the latest news regarding his career move from the unsuccessful RTL Tonight to the more established Pauw & De Wit. This transition echoes a similar shift made by renowned journalist Saskia Belleman, as noted by TV critic Victor Vlam, who remarked, “There is a lot of money being shaken around.”

With RTL Tonight’s failure, many TV personalities are now seeking new opportunities. While some, like Astrid Holleeder, may fade from the spotlight, most are expected to resurface elsewhere. Saskia Belleman has already secured an exclusive role with Pauw & De Wit, and according to Victor Vlam, Twan Huys is set to follow suit.
‘Twan Is Going Too’
Victor claims to have reliable information indicating that Twan will also join the BnnVara talk show. “Twan Huys is moving from RTL Tonight to Pauw & De Wit. After Saskia Belleman, he is the second to make this leap,” he expressed on X.
Although this news hasn’t been confirmed by the talk show’s editorial staff or the parent network, Victor insights, “This news hasn’t been officially announced yet, but they’re using his name to entice other RTL personalities.”
The Cash Flow
A notable point made by Victor is the substantial financial incentives being offered, stating, “Money is being thrown around to give the BNNVARA talk show a boost. Despite budget cuts at the NPO, RTL personalities are being attracted with lucrative contracts.”
Pauw & De Wit is set to return to the airwaves at the end of summer, coinciding with Renze Klamer on August 31. Meanwhile, Vandaag Inside will kick off a week earlier, on August 24.
This transition represents not only a personal milestone for Twan Huys but also signifies the shifting landscape of Dutch television. The move underscores the dynamic nature of the industry, where talent continually reshuffles in response to changing viewer preferences and network strategies.
As audiences await this new chapter for both Huys and the Pauw & De Wit show, the focus remains on how these developments will shape the future of Dutch television. The promise of fresh perspectives and engaging content may reignite viewer interest, providing both Huys and Belleman the opportunity to reclaim their spotlight in a competitive media environment.
