Although it is not yet July, AMD has unlocked FSR Upscaling 4.1 for RDNA 3 with the Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver. This update applies exclusively to discrete RDNA 3 GPUs, such as the Radeon RX 7000 series desktop graphics cards. Integrated GPUs based on RDNA 3.5 require more time to implement due to their limited computational power, necessitating a simpler “lightweight” neural network.
Speaking of neural networks, AMD had to adapt the one used for RDNA 3 as FSR 4.1 primarily utilizes the FP8 data format, which RDNA 4 fully supports.
